The 38th International Böblinger Open took place from December 26th to December 30th 2022 in the Rilano hotel in the city of Böblingen.
The winner was IM Nodar Lortkipanidze ahead of FM Thilo Ehmann with equal points!

Dear chessfriends,
we are very happy that we may invite you to the 38.International Böblinger Open.
For the sake of planning security for all participants and the current requirements due to the pandemic, the Böblingen Open will be held in consultation with the management of the hotel Rilano and the city of Böblingen in compliance with the Corona Rules valid at the time of the tournament and the hygiene concept of the chess club.
Our playing and lodging hotel is the Rilano Hotel in Böblingen auf der Hulb. Also the exclusive ART Hotel ANA Living (annex). We thank the director Mr. Erdem Karatas for it very much.
The room rates were completely adopted for the new start under the brand Rilano Group! We would like to thank our loyal partner GS Star GmbH, which provides us with the two hotels The Rilano Hotel and the Arthotel ANA Living in Böblingen for our tournament.
This year the Hotel Rilano will entertain you (food serving). For the drinks (bar area) is the chess club SC Böblingen responsible.
The number of participants is limited to approximately 230 due to the Corona pandemic.
