Important information about new FIDE rules and regulations

- FIDE ID for players -

Since 01 January 2014 each player in a FIDE rated tournament requires a valid FIDE ID so that the tournament can be evaluated. At our tournament, this concerns the A- and B group. When signing up for this tournament groups please specify the FIDE ID. Most of the players already have such an ID. Whether you have one, you can check at http://ratings.fide.com/ . If no FIDE ID should exist, this must be applied for before the tournament starts. German players can do this currently by contacting the German FIDE-rating Office Christian Krause, email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., stating the full name and birth date. Foreign players must consult their respective Federation.

- Electronic devices -

Since 01 July 2014 are all electronic devices, especially mobile phones, banned in the tournament area, even in switched-off State. Infringement leads to game loss. Hotel guests may leave such devices during the rounds best in the rooms. For unavoidable cases brought by mobile phones, completely switched off devices, to which the player has obviously no access during the game, shall be tolerated. But these may be worn by no means on the body during the game. Please help us in the interest of all players to avoid any misunderstandings. If such a device is ringing during a game, it is self-evident - as before – that this leads immediately to a game loss for the player concerned.

- Appendix G (Quickplay Finishes) -

Appendix G of the FIDE rules applies for this tournament. This was so far the so-called article 10 (draw complaints at less than 2 minutes on the clock due to lack of activity of the opponent). A pure "over the time lifting" is therefore still not possible in our tournament.

- Default time -

The default time at the beginning of the game according to article 6.7a of the FIDE rules is 60 minutes from the start of the game as before. If a player should come more than 60 minutes late, his opponent wins by default.
